Abstract: An innovative way of getting power from the motion of a bicycle is presented in this paper. For this aim, a PMG (Permanent Magnet Generator) will be used. The output AC voltage of the generator will be turned into DC using a three-phase full-wave bridge rectifier. In between the rectifier and a 12 volts DC bus, where the different loads of the system will be connected, a Flyback converter will be placed. The innovation comes in the MCU (Microcontroller Unit) that controls the Flyback operation mode. The algorithm implemented allows to set a constant value of the torque required to produce power depending on speed ratio in the bicycle. All the simulations have been carried out in PSIM.
