Abstract: The purpose of the work is to analyze the current status of the topic energy efficiency in the emergency ambulances context from the viewpoint of efficient management of batteries, incorporation of new storage technologies such as lithium batteries, incorporation of renewable energies, use of LEDs for signaling and lighting, to analyze the necessary medical equipment used, considering the power supply needs, the required power, the autonomy necessary, the possibilities of use DC voltage and the verification of the normative.

The study also  raises new structures to manage energy looking for a weight reduction in the whole system, the possibility of customization and integration of intelligence, modular and ergonomic designs, the electrical safety of both patients and electromagnetic interference and finally the possibility of incorporating new features and services.
