Educational Lighting Smart Grid: Modular and Standard Twilight Lighting System based on LED’s

Abstract: The project proposes the use of renewable energy to supply a family of linear lamps based on LED’s. Standard Zhaga is introduced in order to propose a modular family of lamps which emulates conventional linear fluorescent lighting points. The proposed system is able to automatically regulate the light level depending the amount of the ambient illumination. To achieve this, a Buck converter connected to a 48 volts DC bus has been implemented and controlled using a low cost MCU.  Ambient illumination has been measured using a low cost photo-resistor. This work has been done under the Mexican program Delfin 2014 ("Programa Interinstitucional para el Fortalecimiento de la Investigación y el Posgrado del Pacífico").
