Abstract: Kenya is one of the countries with the highest irradiance ratings (W/m2) of the world. Also is in one of Kenya’s main cities, Kitale, where Judith and Evans decided to build an orphanage school, to take care of the young people without resources. The goal of the project is to help this couple making some infrastructure improvements on the school, to also improve the quality of life of the students, by taking advantage of solar energy. Solar panels will supply energy to a DC-BUS which will have loads connected to it, the selected loads that will be added are: a refrigeration system, a heating system, LED illumination system (outside and inside), a device-charging station and batteries to store the energy.
