Paper: WRE-2014-02 Educational Lighting Smart Grid: Quasi-MPPT Solar Module using a Buck-Boost Converter Authors: Gonzalez-Montoya, Marco Tulio (ORCID: http://orcid.org/0000-0003-1766-3612); Chavez-Cerna, Cesar Alejandro (ORCID: http://orcid.org/0000-0003-3620-4163). Abstract: The project’s goal is to learn about the construction and operation of a Maximum Power Point Tracking System connected to a Solar Panel, using a Buck-Boost Converter to deliver energy to a 48V DC bus. The Buck-Boost Converter has been chosen as the most appropriate topology from the point of operation of the Solar Panel regulation. The implementation of MPPT algorithm has been done using a low cost MCU.
